Michael was born during Puck Fair while his father was buying a horse to do the farmwork.

He was baptised in Dungegan Chapel without his father's presence.He attended the Glen School from 1913 to 1923. He joined The Irish Christian Brothers with his brother James \and they left home on Sept 8th 1924  to go to Dublin.His father  paid £100  towards their education.

He made his first vows in Jan 1927 and got his first teaching post in Thurles, Co Tipperary. He moved to various locations around Ireland during his teaching career. During all his teaching years he was an accomplished gardener and left his stamp on many gardens.

He died in Baldoyle retirment home on July 14th 1986 having been 62 years in the cogregation.
