Stayed in Ireland

My Uncle Mike was my grandmother's (Mary Walsh Rogers) brother. From what I know, there was another brother, James, who always stayed in County Clare.  My Uncle Mike travelled back and forth between Brooklyn and Clare.

I found an entry in the 1940 US Census that listed him as living in the same house in Brooklyn with my grandparents and my father and uncle, working as a grocery clerk.

I recall one time in the late 1970's or early 1980's when I was asked to drive him to JFK for a flight home because my parents had plans for that night. I drove him to JFK and the building to check-in was closed around 8pm at night. I asked to see his ticket and the flight was the night before and he gave may father the date he was to arrive in Shannon, not the date the flight left JFK.

Supposedly, when he was in Brooklyn, he would often take the subway from Brooklyn to Gaelic Park in the Bronx to see the football and hurling games.  Years later, I played association football (soccer) for Manhattan College on the very same field.

I do not know for certain the family in Clare
