Patrick Breheny, (b.1836) was the eldest son of Patrick Breheny & Dorothy Gaffney, of Derreenavoggy(Derrynavoggy) Townland, Arigna, Roscommon.
Patrick had 4 siblings, Anne, Brigid, Catherine.and Winifred.
Anne married a Reynolds from Knockadryan. Many of her family remained there for generations.
Catherine married John Maguire(McGuire) and lived in Cornagee. Some ofther family remained there for generations, some emigrated t the USA.
Winifred married Judson Moody in Boston, Masachusetts. She died within 4 years of her marriage. No children.
Brigid married Peter Walsh, in 1858. I have no knowledge of anything after their marriage. Not where Peter Walsh came from, where they lived or whether they had any children! I am still trying to trace any information,
Patrick married Margaret Glynn and farmed in Derrynavoggy..They had 8 children:-
Thomas,Terence, Brigid, Eleanor, Anne, John, Patrick and Charles.
Thomas,unmarried, a labourer, moved to Oregon. Terence, married, a miner, moved to Scotland. Brigid,unmarried, a dressmaker, moved to Galway. Eleanor, married, moved to Scotland. Anne, a nurse, married, moved to Scotland. John,married, a policeman, moved to Cork. Patrick, married,an Insurance Agent, moved to Scotland. Charles, died aged 12 years.
