  • My Slattery ancestors come from Drangan (near Mullinahone)   My great great grandfather James C Slattery (1834-1909) was the child of Michael Slattery and Mary Cormick.   He, his parents and his brothers and sisters all emigrated to America between 1845-55  eventuallysetting in Union County, Ohio (though perhaps there were detours in Vermont and Dutchess County, New York).  James ultimately fought in the US Civil War, and then married a woman of English ancestry who made him change his name to Slatery and they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana
