Richard Barrett of Clifden Co. Galway was a painter, as was his father before him, Michael Barrett

On 20-May-1869 he married Mary Cosgrove (a servant, daughter of a Policeman John J. Cosgrave) of Errislannan near Clifden. Both were minors when they wed in the Church of Ireland, witnessed by Thomas Baines & Thomas Ward.  

In 1870 they were residing in Abbey Street. Sligo when their firstborn John Barrett was born (and baptised RC).  

By 1872, they were residing in the townland of Killukin, Carrick-on-Shannon when their daughter Mary Barrett was born on 19 October 1872. She was baptised on 11 November 1872 in the RC parish of Croghan with Charles Dolan & Catherine McDermott as godparents. No further records of them here. 

In 1874 they were living on Mill St., Westport Co. Mayo when their daughter Catherine Jane Barrett was born. On Peter St., Westport when their son Michael Barrett was born in 1875, and Richard Barrett Jr in 1876. 

In 1883 they resided in Manorhamilton Co Leitrim when their son George Barrett was born. 

No record of them in the Irish census of 1901. Did they emigrate?
