Samuel Wilkinson was a neighbour of William Carson, about 6 miles north of Longford in Ballinslee(?)
Samuel Wilkinson had a dog.
Whilst sitting near the fire inside of Samuel Wilkinsons home, there were 10-12 marauders who came to the house.  5 stayed outside.  there were 2 who raised their guns and shot at Carson and Wilkinson. Wilkinson passed away, but only after he went outside and shot to intimidate the marauders.  More details in the newspaper article.
