Sarah Jane Johnston was the daughter of John Johnston, Tenant Farmer Augher County Tyrone and his wife Mary Jane Johnston nee Robinson.
John's father Samuel Johnston was also a Tenant Farmer in Augher. Sarah had two younger siblings a sister Minie and a brother Samuel Charleton Johnston. John Johnston died young aged about 35 .Sarah Jane emigrated to New Zealand 1890 and her mother Mary Jane emigrated a few years later with Minie and Samuel Charleton to be with her brother James Robinson and sisters Isabella, Sarah, and Matilda Robinson who had already emigrated to Chester Pennsylvania USA.
Sarah Jane married Henry Albert Deason in Auckland New Zealand July 11th 1900, They had three children, Laura May, Mary Kathleen and Henry Albert Charleton Sarah died 9th September 1949 age 82. She is buried in Auckland New Zealand.
