Stephen Murphy was born in 1886 in Glasganny Lr, Castlebridge , Co. Wexford to Thomas Murphy and Anastasia Daly. He was brother to Jack (Daly) Murphy, Matt, Bill,Mary, Annie, Peter and Tommy.
He spent much of his youth on board of ship and visited many countries during World War One.
He married Maggie Roberts and they ran a B and B in Wexford Town for many years. He died in 1974 aged 87 and is buried in Crosstown Cemetery.
