Thomas is my great great grandfather. He migrated to the USA in about 1850 when he was about 15. He had several other brothers and sisters migrate about the same time. the ones I know for sure were Susan, Michael and Paul. there may have been others. I know several brothers remained in Ireland. John , William and Patrick were all sent an inheritance when Michael died in aroun 1874. My great grand father Married Mary Ann Murphy in 1861. She was born in 1841. in LaSalle Co. IL. Her parents were Caroline Roe (born in Maryland) and Richard Murphy born in Ire. Mary Ann and Thomas had 16 children..13 who surrvived to adulthood. My grandfather Thomas was one of them. i am interested in any information about any relatives still in the Portumna, Woodford Lickmolassy area. My great grandfather Thomas was very successful...he owned over 600 acres in Dimmick Twp IL and farms in Iowa and Nebraska. I live on what is left of the original farm in Dimmick Twp. LaSalle Co.Illinois. My great grandfathers parents were William Dimond and Bridget Kenney.
