Thomas Gainforth lived in Ardcavan and Wexford City.
He was listed in the list of Freeman of Wexford in 1776, and is on the list of men killed on the bridge at Wexford in 1798 during the rising.
His son Thomas left Ireland c. 1815 and settled in Canada where descendants still live.
One branch also moved to Michigan, USA, and there are also many descendants living in Michigan and other states in the USA.
