Thomas was born 11 July 1887 in Ballylin East, to Patrick Kennedy and Catherine Howley.
He married Margaret Larkin of Manninard (daughter of William Larkin and Bridet Maloney) 20 February 1917.
They had at least 10 children, baptised at Ardrahan parish church, and remained living in the family home at Ballylin East until their deaths - Thomas died 9 June 1977 and Margaret died 27 March 1985.
