Thomas was born in Belturbet on January 16 1968 to John McKeone and Mary McCauley. He had two younger brothers John and Charles. He left Ireland fir New York City in 1889 where he met his wife Mary Winters also from Ireland. They had eight children. Thomas was a teacher in Brooklyn New York schools. He died in 1945 in New York.
