William Houghton : Short Biography

William Houghton (1847-1907) of Clonboyher was the son of Edward Houghton & Leitita Arnold.

In 1873, he married Mary Anne aka Marian Arnold (1856-1940) of Drumbrick.

They raised a family on farm #11a [GV] Cloonboygher, Newtowngore, Co. Leitrim.

Children:

• Edward " Ned" Houghton (1876-1954) of Woodford Demesne 

• Joseph Houghton (1878-1956>Detroit), 

• James William Houghton (1879-1931), 

• Mary Ellen (1882), 

• George Francis Houghton (1884-1939> Detroit), 

• Isabella Houghton (1886-1966> Detroit),

• Margaret Louise Houghton (1889-1956> Michigan), 

• Eliza Anne Sherrard (1891-1977> CA), 

• Charles Houghton (1893), 

• Letitia Houghton (1896-1905).

Edward Houghton's widow Letitia Houghton (1823-1908)  the daughter of William Arnold of Aughavadrin, was residing with her son William in 1901.  

William's sister, Elizabeth aka Bessie Houghton (1824-1900) spinster, also resided with him.
