Stradbally (Waterford)

Share This:

The Cove Bar is in the centre of Stradbally, an attractive terraced house dating back to 1810. It was once in the possession of the Riley family. In 1911 census there is a publican by the name of Patrick Riley living in the centre of Stradbally, with his wife, Mary, their baby son also called Patrick, and two servants. They were 9-year-old Margaret Keohan, who is recorded as a nurse (presumably hired to mind the baby) and a 20-year-old barmaid called Ellie Wharton.
