Lurgan (An Lorgain = the long, low ridge) was a parcel of arable land in the townland of Canbo containing "34 profitable acres".

Close to Knockroe, Croghan this sub-townland (also spelled Lorgan) was recorded as Lurgan Carrowcashiell in the Down Survey.

In May 1829, among freeholders seeking to register to vote were: Patt McDermott 'of Canbo otherwise Lurgan'.
