Granard (Longford)

St. Mary's Church, Granard was first opened for worship on May 5, 1867. Built on a height from where it overlooks the town, the foundations of the church were laid in September 1860. In about 1887, the tower and spire, which measures 170ft, were added to house the bell. A medieval-style cross was also added to the spire.
