On the 5th of June 2002, Former U.S. President Bill Clinton travelled to Enniskillen, County Fermanagh to open a peace centre bearing his name. 

The centre was named after Clinton in recognition of the important role which he played in securing peace in Northern Ireland and negotiating the Good Friday Agreement. 

The Centre was built on the site of the 1987 Remembrance Sunday Bombings.
