Settlement in Emhain Macha by gaelic peoples

4000bc emhain macha Armagh an early bronze age structure a circular ditch surrounding the mound 45 metres 150 feet in diameter 5 metres 16 feet wide and I metre 3 feet deep was also found and flint tools and shards of pottery show activity at the site in the Neolithic circa 4000bc to 2500bc  other significant prehistoric sites nearby include Haugheys fort an earlier bronze age hill fort two thirds of a mile 1 kilometre to the west the kings stables a manmade pool also dating to the bronze age                                                                            ​
