Mary Hogan/Murphy and Michl/Michael Murphy, along with their son, Daniel Joseph Murphy, emmigrated to the United States in 1848. They arrived in St. Louis, Missouri on 24 Dec 1848. Daniel later married Mary Fitzgerald from London and they had a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Murphy/Ryder, who went on to establish the Mary Ryder Home for Women in 1930, which is still in operation to this day.
