Are my family still in Ireland? Grandfather was Gerald Griffin, ship captain in WW1 and WW2

I would like to know if there are family members still living in Ireland.  My Grandfather's name was Gerald Griffin and he came over in the early 1900's I think and he came illegally I have been told. He became a merchant marine and eventually a ships caption during both ww1 and ww2.  Than is all I know but I do have a picture of him in his uniform on my Mothers wedding day.

I would love to know if I have family still remaining in Ireland that I could get in touch with.  I would love to come back for a visit someday.
