  • Hello,

Approximately what year was Hannah Daly born in Liscarroll? Do you know the names of her parents? Where and when did she and Maurice Dillon marry.

    Regards,

  • Hello Kerjan,

I checked the Liscarrol, County Cork baptism transcriptions for the baptism of Honora (Hannah) Daly for the years 1831, plus and minus five years, but didn’t locate a baptism for her. This search was undertaken at the Find My Past website, which has provided transcriptions of existing Catholic baptisms, marriages, and deaths at no charge for all 32 counties of Ireland for the 18th and 19th centuries.

However, the Liscarrol baptism transcriptions do show that a Joanna Daly was baptized in Liscarrol on 19 April 1828. Her parents are Denis Daly and Joan Horgan.

There is also the baptism of a Johanna Daly. She was baptized in Liscarrol on 11 November 1832. Her parents are Jeremiah Daly and Johanna, whose last name may be Fennery.

I also looked for the marriage of Honora/Hannah Daly and Maurice/Morris Dillon at the Find My Past website, but didn’t find it. Nor did I find baptism transcriptions for any of their children.

Were Honora and Maurice Catholic, or did they belong to the Church of Ireland?

On the chance that Honora and Maurice were Protestant, I looked for their church and civil marriage indexes at the irishgenealogy.ie, FamilySearch, and Ancestry.com websites for the years 1845 to 1855, but didn’t find it.

    Kind Regards,

    Dave
