Thomas Henry and his wife Catherine Rock(e) lived in Boyle . Their children Patrick(1837), Roger (1839), Thomas (1841) and Margaret(1844) were all baptised RCs in this parish of Boyle. I am looking for marriage records for Thomas and Catherine. Also I believe that Thomas had a brother John Henry(abt 1811) who may have lived in Sligo. John Henry and his family moved to The Gorbals, Glasgow, Scotland before 1851 and his nephew Thomas Henry(1841) was also in The Gorbals, Scotland in 1861. All the males above were Boot/shoe makers. I would like to trace the rest of Thomas' family and his uncle John Henry (1811) 's family possibly in Sligo. Did Thomas's family stay behind in Ireland? John Henry (1811) had parents Patrick Henry and Winifred Cauley. If anyone is able to help I would be very grateful. Thank you. Gwenda

  • Gwenda,

I searched the 1901 census of Sligo, and found 1 Henry household where the head was a boot & shoemaker. No idea if they are connected to your family but if you get no other leads, it might give you somewhere to start.

Looking at the likely marriage, Walter married Winifred Griffin on 26.4.1900 in the RC church in Kilmactigue. His father was David Henry. A Thomas Henry was a witness.
