Hello.  My great grandfather, Michael J. Hinchy came from County Clare.  He was baptized at Killaloe in Drumclift on April 16, 1856.  His parents were Pat Hinchy and Margaret Ringrose.  Sponsors were Owen McGurie and Margaret Tobin.  He came from a large family.  I believe some of the siblings are living in Ireland. I have done some research on Ancestry.  Just saying hello.  I have visited your country and it is breathtaking.

I also believe that his wife came from the same county.  She had the same maiden name.  Her name was Bridget Henchey.  Not sure if I have the spelling right.  This is how it is on her papers from NY USA.  I believe her parents werer John Henchey and Ann Geary.

Thank you for this site.  Mary Jean

  • Eamonn,

Thank you so much for looking for me.  Good information.  I did try to attach my original message to the correct parish board.  I probably did something wrong.  Yes, I think my great grandfather came from a family ten siblings living on Mill Street.  I like the map too.

    Cheers!  Mary Jean

  • Dear MaryJean P.

Thank you for your query to the Ireland Reaching Out message board and welcome.  I'm delighted to see that Eamonn has given you some information.

You might note that Ennis Parish has its registers online at the following link:

In addition, the Clare Library is a wonderful resource for online information.  Their link is below:

We have a Parish Liaison for Ennis and I will copy this post to him.  He may have further information for you about the Mill Street area and/or the family.

Thank you for your interest in Ireland Reaching Out.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.

  • I am indebted to you for taking the time to look for me.  Information that is useful.  It is true that I attempted to post my initial message on the appropriate parish board.  It's likely that I messed up in some way.  Yes, I believe that my great-great grandpa came from a family who resided on Mill Street and had ten siblings.  Even I can appreciate the map.  geometry dash
