I am searching for information about the following Howley Ancestors who are all brothers and sisters, who emigrated from Emlymoran and Farranimrish, Castleconnor, Sligo, Ireland to Philadelphia about 1900 to 1910. The birth dates below are correct according to the Irish Birth records, however I have found that the Philadelphia  Records sometimes have different Birth dates as much as 5 years later:-

1. Michael Howley 1881-1919 emigrated to Philadelphia 25 Sep 1910 and lived at 3066 Richmond Street.
He was married, but I do not know the name of his wife or if he had any children.

2. Patrick Howley 1871-???? Emigrated to Philadelphia 15 Jun 1915. I do not know where he lived, if he married or had any children.

3. Ellen Howley 1879-???? Emigrated to Philadelphia 24 May 1908. I do not know where she lived, if she married or had any children.

4. John Howley 1873-???? Emigrated to Philadelphia sometime before 1908.
He lived at  2641 ?ilton Street. I cannot transcribe the first letter of the full name of the Street.

5. I already have all the information about James Howley 1870-1952 who also emigrated to Philadelphia about 1900. He lived at 2835 Aramingo Avenue.  He married Catherine Walsh and I have all the info about their children.

  • Hi Patrick,

I grew up in Philadelphia and have been researching my family for a couple years now.

If your ancestors were Catholic, I have found a lot of good records from the Philadelphia RC church on Findmypast (Baptisms & marriages).

    Good Luck

  • Hello Patrick
I have just joined this site as my family are originally from Castleconor. My Great,Great,Grandmother was a Margaret Howley 1851-? who married a James Culkin of Newtown Castleconor. Don't know if there is any connection with your family.
    Kind Regards
