Reviewing Ancestry.com and family history.  I have a relative Rose Donnelly from Lissan, Tyrone, born January 1832 and passed away in USA on Dec 21, 1917.  Looking for any information on husband (Joseph) and her parents.  Thanks so much in advance

  • JD,

I assume Rose was Catholic. Lissan RC parish records are complete from 1839 onwards, and are on-line on the nli site. There are some fragments for the years 1822-1839 which are not on-line. There’s a copy of them in PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast. You might want to search them for her baptism. You would need to go in person, or get someone else to do it for you.

You ask about Rose’s husband Joseph, but you haven’t given us his surname. And did they marry in Ireland or somewhere else?

You may find that Rose and Joseph’s US death certificates will give you their parents names and other information about their background in Ireland eg occupations.
