Hello Everyone, I'm an Inisheeny Grady.. Descending from Patrick Grady (GG Grandfather) who married Margaret Bourke in 1864. They had 6 children on Inisheeny, Martin (1865), John (1867), Thomas (1869), Mary(1872-1873), Michael (1874) and Patrick (1877). Patrick died in Feb 1877 and shortly afterwards (before 1881) Margaret moved to Scotland with their 5 surviving sons. Patrick's father is listed as Thomas Grady and his mother as Mary.. I can't find patrick's birth certificate or get any information whatsoever on Thomas. Even his wife's maiden name escapes me (possibly Mary Dunne 1833.. But no proof) I also see a Thomas on the Griffiths valuation of 1853.. Can anybody help me get anywhere with Thomas or possiby more information on how Patrick died.

Hi Jim. Thank you so much for responding to my message. The first link you mention in relation to Thomas is to late for his birth, I would guess the chap I'm looking for would have been born around the 1800 mark. This is a patrick having a son called Thomas, mine goes the other way around and I'm guessing my Patrick was born in the 1830's.
I have followed your advice on the second link and requested a photocopy of Patricks death Cert (1877) from the site.

Patrick Grady died of 'Necrosis of leg, 5 years certified' according to his death certificate in 1877. Mary Grady was present at his death.
