Hi all,
My ancestor William Devery married for the 2nd time in Burnley, Lancashire on 25 July 1851, and listed his father as being John Devery from "Cloonferlo, Ireland" (and mother Ellen).
Christenings of some of William's children from the first marriage seem to match Ferbane, so it seems to make sense that "Cloonferlo" will be Clonfanlough (and perhaps the handwriting in the register was actually meant to be "Cloonfanlo". Does this sound plausible to the Offaly locals?

We do not have a liaison for Clonmacnoise civil parish where Clonfinlough is located. However, I will forward your message to a Co. Offaly parish liaison for a nearby parish.
I did note that the 1853 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Clonmacnoise civil parish does show twenty-six Devery records including five in Clonfinlough.

Clonfanlough is about 15km from Ferbane
About 4 km from Clonmacnoise
And about 7km from Ballinahown
