My mom and I are looking for information for John Kelley's family. John was born in Dysart in 1824 and was the son of Raymond Kelley & Mary Fallon. We are looking for information for either Raymond Kelley or his wife Mary Fallon. We have no dates just names and a place.

Thank in advance for any information!

  • Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The RC baptismal records for Dysart/Ballforan parish start in 1850 and marriage record start in 1862 so there would be no records available for John and his parents. I looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Dysart civil parish and there were many, many Kellys listed but no Raymond. Possibly he was deceased. There was one Mary kelly but there is no way of knowing if this mary was the mother of John unless you find other confirming evidence. https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/roscommon/dysart.htm

Can I suggest that you add John's story to our XO Chronicles site and possibly someone will see a connection  https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…

    Have you considered DNA testing?

  • Thank you so much for looking into both of my posts! I have done the 23andMe DNA test. We kind of figured there was a lot of Kelley’s in that area. It’s like John Smith here in the states.

I will talk to my mom and get Johns story and hopefully we can post it there!
