Hi! I have recently begun researching my family history for my mother. Her father was killed in WWII and she doesn't have alot of info on her family history from his side of the family. I have managed to trace her 4 times grandfather to Waterford Ireland through ancestry.com. However, all I really have is his name, Thomas Keller and that he was born in 1796. He was Married here in Ross county Ohio to Lucinda Lyons in 1836. I believe he died in 1845 leaving behind one son Allen Keller. I wanted to try and find any info I could on Thomas's parents, where they lived, church, trade, education and what ship Thomas may have sailed on and what year. I know it's alot but I'm at a loss for more giving more info. I did find out he enlisted in the states in 1824 or 25 I believe. I'm hoping for any little lead I can get! Thanks so much, this is such a wonderful site and I appreciate the inclusion.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I checked Roots Ireland for Co. Waterford and did not see a Thomas Keller baptismal record from 1788-1804. Most of the Co. Waterford RC parishes do not have records back to the late 1700s/early 1800s. If Thomas was not RC, Roots Ireland does not have any Church of Ireland or Presbyterian records for Co. Waterford.

You may want to post Thomas' story on our XO Chronicles site  https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…

You may also want to consider autosomal DNA testing.
