Looking for information on ancestor Martin Sweeney

Julie: Not knowing Martin's parents names will make it difficult to confirm a record. Also, not all parishes in Co.Tipperary have baptismal records back to 1818. I searched on two different subscription sites and both sites had the same possible record for your Martin. There was a Martin Sweeny who was baptized November 15 18118 in the Templemore RC church in Co. Tipperary. Father was William Sweeny and mother was Anne Ryan. They lived in Templemore. Have you considered taking a DNA test? Maybe you will have matches who might know more about your Sweeny/Malone connections. Roger McDonnell

Thanks very much to you both for your replies. Roger, I have done the Ancestry DNA test and am doing research on that site. I will investigate William Sweeny and Anne Ryan from Templemore. Thanks for that great tip. Patricia, I have that same information for Martin Sweeney on Find a Grave, Thank you very much for the obituary info on Mary Malone Sweeney. She is definitely my great-great grandmother as the obituary lists her children correctly. I have seen references to both Cork and Kerry for her, but as the obituary states Kerry, that is probably her correct birthplace. Following your information, I have also seen a shorter obituary for her in the Lexington Herald, which states that her parents were John Malone and Catherine O'Brien. Thank you both again.
