Im trying to determine what happened to the daughters of my x2 great grannies sister Mary Ann & Rose Ann Smyth b. 1876 & 1879 in Killyrover Fermanagh.

Daughters of Thomas Smyth & Catherine Cassidy.

I have found them both on the 1901 census then nothing.

If possible im trying to find out who they both married & any offspring

Im thinking Catherine died prior to 1901 as she doesnt appear on the census

Thank you

Nathaniel

  • Hi Nathaniel,

This looks like the marriage record for Mary (though her second name is Ellen not Ann) from www.rootsireland.ie/:
    Date of Marriage:22-Nov-1904
    Parish / District:ENNISKILLEN
    County:FERMANAGH
Husband Thomas Swift Address:Liverpool Occupation:MERCHANT  Age 22 Status:Bachelor (Previously unmarried)
Wife: Mary EllenSmyth Killyrover FARMERS DAUGHTER Age:22 Spinster (Previously unmarried)
    Husband's Father :John Swift FARMER
    Wife's Father ThomasSmyth FARMER
    Witness 1 Richard Collins
    Witness 2 Sarah FrancesNaan
    Notes:

ENNISKILLEN R. C. CHAPEL, PARISH OF ENNISKILLEN. AGES GIVEN AS FULL
    OVER 21.

I couldn't find one for Rose or a death record for Catherine.

I also tried geni.nidirect.gov.uk; you might like to double check there. There are a few marriages for Rose but none in Fermanagh & it was customary for the bride to marry in her home town. However if she met her husband while working away this could change. You are only charged if you order a certificate I think.

    Hi Nathaniel,

there is a death record for a Rose Smyth aged 2 in 1881 attached but since you found your Rose in the 1901 census I doubt it is much use.
