Yes that would be a pity because my Uncle's James McQuade is the last surviving member of this family as my Mum and Aunt died only recently.

Hi, I saw on the site that you are a McQuade relative as am I.  My Great-grandfather John McQuade from Gaigue, born 1834 to John and Bridget (McKenna) baptised in Drumlish.  Are we related

Hello MullyV:   I have not been on this site in quite awhile.  Yes, my Great-Grandfather was John McQuade twin brother of Patrick McQuade born baptized 2 May 1834 in Ardagh Diocese Drumlish, Longford, Ireland sons of John and Bridget (McKenna)  My GGrandfather married a Sarah (Curley) in South Shields England and came to the US Boston, MA Area.  I would love to see if we have a connection.  thank you   Bernadette from Florida

Hope I am not to late joing inthis conversation, I know there has to be some type of connection here for me, been searching for over 10 years trying to find out about John McQuade and Bridget McKenna. My name is also John McQuade i do have my family traced back to John McQuade and Bridget McKenna but all i know is the names, My father had told me that Bridget was the name she went by but in the couple of records I find she is listed as Catherine. My great grandfather is Patrick McQuade born is about 1860 in Longford, Ireland. I did find two piceses of information recentlly that tells me that. I find it hard to believe that my great grandfather Patrick McQuade did not have any brothers or sisters. 

My great grandfather moved to Bothwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland before 1879 and he married Theresa McGEOCH in November of 1879 in Scotland.

I am totally stumped on John and Bridget (Cathrine) and any help would be appriciated. HELPPPPPPPPPPP 

Hello possible cousins - we are skirting all around the McQuades, John and Patrick.  Are you both living in Ireland or the US? if in US are your ancestors from the New England area, or elsewhere I have been contacted by relatives of Patruck McQuades from Pennsylvania but cannot find any connection  to my McQuade family  If in Ireland, I know there are some McQuades still in the Longford area.  I plan on attending a genalogical seminar in Belfast this year with research centered on the Ulster area, hopefully I can trace the ancestors as to who is who.  I do not have any information about my McQuade side being from Scotland?  I have a death record of a Patrick McQuade died on 28 March 1835 in Gague Co Longford Roman Catholic.  I do know that a John and Patrick McQuade were brothrs and did farming around 1854 in Graigue townland Plots 1,2 and 3, hence farmers.  My ggrandfather John McQuade listed his trade as marble finisher here in the US census.  I am looking forward to hearing more for either of you.  By the way, my Bridget McKenna was listed as Bridget as far as the records I have state.

Only facts I have a John McQuade and Catharine (Bridget) McKenna is they were in Longford and he was a farmer. Got this from Patrick’s Marriage license to Tresa McGeoch they were married in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland on November 26, 1879. In the marriage license she is listed as Bridget (McKenna) McQuade. 

Both John and Bridget are listed as deceased in the marriage license. 

Funny I find a John McQuade married to Bridget McKenna in the 1875 Rode Island census (Pawtucket), both from Ireland with kids and a Patrick that matches the age of my Patrick. I know just coincidence but makes me think. I really do not see Patrick after that did he go back to Europe? Thinking out loud sorry. 

I do know that Patrick McQuade (17 MAR 1860 - 30 APR 1936) was born in Longford. I find that on his entrance into Ellis Island arrived on July 12, 1910. And on his Pennsylvania Federal Nationalization record June 24, 1920.

He Lived in Philadelphia, PA from 1910 until 1936 when he passed away. He and Teresa had 9 children in total all were born in Scotland.   

I am sure John McQuade had brothers and sisters basically nobody back then had only 1 child. 

I see records of McQuade's in Rode Island, Massachusetts and in Canada I believe in the Nova Scotia (not swearing that is the right place in Canada) area.

I did my DNA on Ancestry.com and I do find people who are distant cousins in there with links to McQuade's (New England, Canada) but no idea how we are related. I speculate it is from brothers and or sisters of my Patrick McQuade. 

I live in New York, was born in Western Pennsylvania. Move to NY when I was 1.
