I am trying to find out where my 3rd ggrandfather and mother may have been born and who their parents were.

Michaelis and Catherine married in Killonvoy and Killian Roscommon November 24, 1844 (His names is spelled Killeen and Killian)

According to Griffiths I believe he was a tenant farmer in Athlone Roscommon, but there were 2 different Michael Killian (Killion) one in Lismagroon Killinvoy and one in Ballinasloe Taghmcconnell. I'm tempted to believe that the Lismagroon one is my michael because it also shows his wife Catherine.

I found a death of a Michael Killian in 1890 saying he was 90 years old , but I'm not sure if this is him.

Michael Killen and Catherine Fallon are mentioned in their daughter Elleanora birth Muly 7, 1860 in Drum Roscommon

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

We are doing a cleanup of older messages that never got a response and we apologize for not responding.

I looked at the subscription site Roots Ireland and found five other baptismal records for children of Michael Killian and Catherine Fallon in addition to the record for Elleanora that you located. I pasted the transcriptions below including a Margaret with no date.

The first record for John was in Knockcroghery which is another name for Killinvoy parish. However, all of the remaining records were in St. Peter's Athlone which is further south from Killinvoy RC and civil parishes. The Griffiths Valuation survey was completed in 1855. If your Michael was having children baptized in Athlone, I don't think the Killinvoy Griffiths record would apply to him.

Another possibility is that there were two Michael Killeen/Killen Catherine Fallon couples.

Civil death records start in 1864, however, currently we only have index records for 1864-1877 at the free site www.irishgenalogy.ie and actual images of death records from 1878 on. If your Michael was in Kinllinvoy parish then the registration district was Roscommon and there is a death record in 1868 in Roscommon district for a Michael Killeen who died in 1868 at age 55.
