I found your email address on the Lawrencetown Galway site, not sure exactly what one as I was searching about and saw a bit re Sarah West she was my Great Great Grandmother Ellen O'Connor's sister
Ellen West (DOB 1821) married Michael O'Connor (DOB 1809)
We are lead to believe My Great Grandfather Henry West O'Connor was born in 1941 in Kiltormer Galway and Baptised June 26 1841 in Kiltormer, they were Catholic
He had a brother Michael who was born 1844 and a brother Thomas who was born in 1847 both in Galway but not sure where in Galway
John Henry West married Frances Phillis here in Australia in 1882
The whole family came to Australia and settled in Victoria
Ellen West's father was Matthew West (DOB 1770) her mother was Bridget Sale (DOB 1780) in Lawrencetown Galway
There children were
Richard West DOB 1788 Galway
Elizabeth West DOB 1790 Galway
Mark West DOB 1792 Galway
Jane West DOB 1793 Galway
Sarah West DOB 1794 Kiltormer Galway
Thomas West DOB 1806 Galway
We don't have much else on Michael O'Connor, he died in Victoria Australia in 1866 his death certificate noted he had lived in Australia for 33 years so we are assuming he migrated to Australia in 1853
I would really appreciate anything that you can find on the West/O'Connor family
We will be in Ireland in June and we are staying in Ahascragh for a few days as we have roots there

See the link below to www.townlands.ie, which is very helpful to find out information on all townlands in Ireland.

I researched family members still alive in the 1901/1911 censuses.
(O)Connor’s in Laurencetown DED in 1901
(O)Connor’s in Lawrencetown DED in 1911
No West’s were found in 1901 or 1911 in the same area.
Another useful website to find civil birth, marriage and death certificates and is free is:

I will do some more research to see if there are any descendants still alive and in the area. I don’t know anyone from there that can help but will put out some feelers and see if we can get some local help before your trip in June.
If you wish to contact me for help and guidance, I would be only delighted to help.
My email is claregalway@irelandxo.com
Best of luck
Clare
