My 4th great grandfather George Love and his wife Mary Isabella Smith from County Tyrone, took their family to live in Ohio, USA in 1790/91. I have found the possibility of his father being Robert "of Ballyfoliard" Love (1682-1758) with a wife Mary

There are very very few records for Tyrone in the 1600s and 1700s. There’s probably little chance of finding any records for George & Isabella. Possibly DNA testing may be a way of matching with others who have additional information about where the family originate. Family Tree DNA reportedly has more people with Ulster roots than any other company. That obviously increases the chances of finding a match. You might want to try them or, if you have already tested, you can transfer your results to them for no fee.

The North of Ireland Family History Society are running an Ulster DNA project and can offer FTDNA testing kits at a reduced price.  http://www.nifhs.org (Go to DNA project on the website).

Thanks Elwyn for the quick reply.  Just my luck in researching the wrong county lol.  I have already taken a dna test with Ancestry.com and uploaded the data to Family Tree DNA, Gedmatch, My Heritage, Living DNA and using a few tools that they offer and I have found no cousins yet.  But ever hopeful.

Perfect Janan2! I will email you over the weekend. I have other DNA matches to that family same family but it's so far back I'm not surprised we aren't a match. Very few cMs shared at that point.
