Hi,
My ancsetry that is associated with Dublin is not exactly Irish even though I do have confirmed Irish ancestry with the Madden of Clare, Ireland.
This connection is the deClare dynasty.
If anyone is upset with this information, I am sorry, but I cannot help who my ancestors were and what they did to other groups of people.
Joanne
Joanne,
Do you have any specific info about the deClares in Dublin? Names, dates, etc? Thanks.
Hello Joanne,
If you are talking about Richard Declare, the 2nd Earl of Pembroke, also known as "Strongbow" (1130 to 1176), the LibraryIreland website has a great deal of information about him, which you can access at: https://www.libraryireland.com/biography/RichardDeClareStrongbow.php
Wikipedia also has information about Strongbow at the following link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_de_Clare,_2nd_Earl_of_Pembroke
Best Wishes,
Dave Boylan
