Hi there.  A couple of years, I have received information about my ancestors in Ireland and recently discovered that my 2nd GGF’s name was mentioned in the CASHEL GAZETTE and WEEKLY ADVERTISER on Saturday 18th March 1876 - Please attached screen shot of article.

According to the caption of the screen shot I made, it reads that William Morressy was a fisherman and had beaten all other anglers on a Friday.   The story is on Page 6 in the newspaper.

I have further information relating to my 2nd GGF that he is referred to as “Creagh’s Man” being employed as a gamekeeper by Mr Creagh, Landlord of Castlepark and was responsible for the game – animals, fowl on the estate.

It also states that the post did not endear him very much to the locals and as a result Billy found himself in court on many occasions, for many and various reasons defending the interests of his employer against the local trespassers and poachers.

When I had clicked on the page trying to retrieve the information, there was website BNA (British Newspaper Archive) that automatically jump on to the page asking me sign to sign up!!!

Would it be possible if one of your volunteers or any else that reads this post, could they obtain access to the newspaper and retrieve the abovementioned information, please and also any information that is related to my 2nd GGF’s employer, Mr Creagh please.

My email is colinmorrissey61@bigpond.com.au

Thanks

Colin
