  • Hi Margaret

Have just come across your post by chance as I am planning a trip to Australia in February 2024.

My father was Terry O'Keefe (passed away in 2012) who grew up in Wangoom,Victoria, Australia on his parents property. His father (my grandfather) was Simon O'Keefe, a dairy farmer and his wife (my grand mother) Wynne. Arthur O'Keefe was my great grandfather.

I visited Kilmihil, Co Clare in Ireland with my father to visit his second cousin - Bridie? It was the early 90's and sadly I don't have the extensive paperwork Dad kept on the family history.

Dad, Terry had two sisters, Peggy O'Keefe an accomplished piano player who lived in Glasgow, Scotland for many years and Patricia who lived in Melbourne.

I live in Somerset in UK.

I look forward to hearing from you!

    All the best, Sarah

  • Hello Sarah:

Thank you for getting in touch.
I have an extensive family tree on Ancestry called Margaret Irvine Family Tree, which is publicly available. All the ancestors you mention are on my tree.

My email address is irvinemargaret@hotmail.com. I could send you an invite to take a look at my tree. I am an active member which might prove annoying for you. However you can always cancel the invite. I live in Perth, Western Australia. I went to Ireland in 1972. However I wasn't interested in family history at that time.

Please accept my apologies for this late reply. I had to establish a new password for this website and in consequence mislaid your message. Only now have I managed to find this.

Are you coming to Western Australia next year. I presume you are going to Victoria.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards

    Margaret
