I have been trying to research my Irish heritage for quite some time but it has been very difficult.

I know on my mothers side (Malone) I have gotten so far as my great great great grandfather Patrick Malone and his wife Ellen who were both born in Ireland.

I also have a possible bank record that Ellen Malone was sending money back to limerick Ireland to a Timothy and Ms Mary Tierney.  Patrick was born about 1843 and Ellen was born about 1854.. This is how far I can go with my mothers side and my fathers side (Carroll) has been more difficult.

I do have a family tree started on ancestry.com under the name Carroll family tree and my username would be Christinecarroll74..

I am looking for any help possible as I am making my second trip to Ireland this September and would love to have something more personal to me to visit.

Thank you for any help or direction you may be able to provide.

  • Hi Chrissy,

Thanks for the query. Do you happen to know what country your ancestors came from? I could move this thread to that county's message board and you might get an even quicker response from people

Also, if you had any information about if they had kids, what their names were, where the located to after Ireland, etc.
