Hello and Christmas greetings. I'm trying to trace the birth roots of Eileen Power of Kilkenny, possibly Callan, born on April 6th 1935. Her father was Martin, a farmer or farm labourer and he was widowed when Eileen was quite young. He remarried, possibly around 1939. The family might have been quite large. I am a direct descendant of Eileen and her Farther, Martin. I know that she died in 2008 but I am very keen to reconnect to my Irish roots. Kilkenny is certain, Callan less so. I would love to hear from anyone who may have information. Thank you, Geraldine

Civil birth records are online only up through 1916 because of Irish privacy rules. This is likely the 1939 marriage record for Martin Power and he was from Callan.

Dear Roger, thanks so much for this. I can't be sure yet that this Martin Power was my grandfather but this gives me hope. Thank you. I need to find his first marriage which would have been pre 1935, I think. Merry Christmas
