There were no Robert Reilly birth/baptism records from Mullagh on www/rootsireland.ie/ 1830 + - 5 years but there was this one:

The wedding record is also on roots but has very little info. Given that the marriage usually took place in the bride's parish, Robert may have been born in Annagh. The father's occupation makes a strong case for this being your Robert

Thankyou. Perhaps you are right. I'm surprised this Robert is Church of England, possibly there was an intermarrieage.

You will struggle due to Robert's pssible date of birth. The record book for that time is missing, the one before it is in place and the one after it but there is a big gap. My G Grandmother was Margaret Reilly of Cloughballybeg . This area has had various spellings of the name and in the 1821 census it is called Claughwellymor and you will see from that census that the area is full of Reilly's . The area also has a lot of Brogan's listed as well. We are very lucky in having the 1821 census for the area as very few places in Ireland have that record.

My family only in the last 10 years sold the property in Cloughballybeg that generations of my family grew up in. I tried to post a link but this site doesn't like it but it is the national archives of Ireland census site and it's the 1821 fragments you are looking for , you might see a hint in some of the occupations. It is now a fairly quiet crossroads on the road between Mullagh and Virginia but back then it was very busy with a large population.
