My great-great uncle Richard Daly was born in Tuam in 1838- son of John Daly of Daly's Hotel, The Square, Tuam.

I was hoping someone could inform me of what happened to him after 1878, when I know he sold off all his possessions, cattle and farm implements etc. At the time of the sale he was living in Ballygaddy House.  Where and when did he die?

Was he buried in Tuam with the rest of his family members? I have read in the press of the time that his father and mother were buried in the family vault in "The Old Cemetery" Tuam. Where is this cemetery? His mother was Margaret Kelly Daly . She died in 1860 in a tragic accident when her carriage overturned in the river Errif.

Thank you in advance.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I forwarded your message to a volunteer who lives not far from Tuam.
