Hello Michael and Caitlin
I think this project is a wonderful idea and I am so proud that the South East Galway people are launching it.

Over the years I have learnt that records are limited particularly for labouring, Irish Catholics leaving before the 1855 valuation and 1864 civil registration. My goal has been refined to finding 1 Irish record for my paternal line ROWAN that links them to a townland. My hope is that one exists in a manor record or an early local newspaper.

How do I go about posting please family information for the project?

I look forward to seeing what new reference material becomes available as a result of this project.

Karen

  • Dear Karen

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the long delay in getting back to you.

If you have some family information we would be delighted to host it. You can forward to lcolleran@irelandxo.com. Laura is our Communications Manager and she will create a news item around your information and post in the appropriate parish for you. If you have any photographs to accompany it, that would be great. Just let Laura know that you were in correspondence with me and she will understand the context

    Best wishes
