Hello.  My husband's ancestor Robert Caldwell owned a pub called The Cross in the late 1800s.  He sold the pub to a William Armstrong.  The information I have says it was at the cross roads of Lisangeer.  We live in Canada and are planning a tour of Ireland for 2019.  We would like to know if there is still a pub as it would be interesting to visit it. Thank you.

  • There is a pub at Lisnageer junction on Google Street View (Sept. 2009), in Lisnageer townland Kildrumsherdan civil parish it now appears to be called Traynor's Bar & Lounge (yelp.ie) , there's also a photo on Geograph.ie

There's also a Lisnageer townland in Drumgoon civil parish, Co. Cavan.

p.s. I see your Robert on the 1901 census as 'Public House and Farmer'  - based on the building returns it's defintely the Lisnageer in Kildrumsherdan civil parish.
