Great Uncle William Mogan's trip to Ireland

When: Thursday, 30 March, 2017

Foreward "William was at the time of this trip 18 years old. He was a engineer for the railroad and was killed at age 40 when two trains hit head on in Pegram, Tennessee, just outside Nashville, Tennessee.  He had married and had one child at his death.

Spring is here, the birds are singing and the early spring flowers are blooming at Coole. The Visitor Centre and tearooms are now open at the weekends, except for 1st and 2nd April - St Patrick’s weekend, 25th & 26th March and 8th & 9th April.

Catherine Lynch was born in Garruragh, Tulla and baptised on 7 January 1861.  She was a  daughter of Matthew Lynch and Margaret White, local farmers in the area.  Matthew Lynch held lands in Garruragh with Catherine Lynch who was listed as a widow and was probably his mother.
