This is the mountain dominating the area and it is steeped in folklore and offers grand views from the caves or the top of the hill at the cairn.

You can get to a jump off point for a climb to the caves by going along the road toward Ballymote and make a right at the sign for the National School and St Kevin's Church [also a very nice place to visit - built in 1809] and then proceed left on the old, and very narrow, road to a small parking area [it is signed] to begin your hike.

Be careful going up.

Some other sites include Knockbrack Cemetery, left, Toomour Abbey, Kingstone Holy Well, Carrowkeel [ a site of tombs thousands of years old], Templevanney Cemetery and Lough Na Leibe, a lake on the other side of Keshcorran. You can also drive all around the mountain - starting from the spot where you begin the hike and then keeping the mtn. on your right all around - coming back out at St. Kevin's.
