Eddie McDonald was so gracious to us on our visit to Clonmore. I still cherish his article on the Riches of Clonmore.

My great-great grandfather, name of Patrick Swain (b. 1806)  married Mary Farrell (m. 21 Feb 1841) and had a son Edward (b.27 Jan 1842). I believe they left Ireland in 1850. Mary's brother Valentine also crossed in about that time.

The tombstone in Clonmore mentions father John Swain (b.1763 d.1826) and wife Catherine (b.1788  d. 1846), erected by John Swain (b. 1805   d. 17 Nov 1882) of Ballaghaclay. Also in memory of brother Patrick, who died in 1854 [in America in New York State.]

The Farrells were from Red Bog. Are there any still in Ireland?
