Hello All, Am looking for Irish records for the CANAVAN family. Margaret O'REILLY, was born in County Cavan c. 1797. She was a Catholic. Margaret married Matthew CANAVAN, also a Catholic, born in County Fermanagh c. 1795. They had eight or 9 children who all appear to have been born in Ireland too. Names of their children were: Thomas, Andrew, Elizabeth, Thomas, Richard, Susan, Bridget, Nicholas and Amelia Philomena or Philomena. Most of the CANAVAN family arrived at Port Jackson, New South Wales as Assisted Immigrants (Bounty Immigrants) on the Carthaginian on 28 January 1842. I can trace most of the family in Australia. Grateful for help with Irish records.
