Hi,
Killow Townland is in Clareabbey civil parish.
The only Churches in the civil parish were in Clare town, Ennis Road (Roman Catholic) and Clare Town, Main Street (Church of Ireland).
However, there are also graveyards located in Clareabbey parish at townlands: Clareabbey, Clarehill, and Killow.
The most common surnames in Clareabbey civil parish in 1855 were:
- McMahon, 11 families
- Lynch, 9 families
- McNamara, 9 families
- O'Brien, 9 families
- Slattery, 9 families
- Cooney, 8 families
- Kelly, 6 families
- Lyons, 6 families
- Roughan, 6 families
- Garvey, 5 families
This area is in the Roman Catholic Parish of Killone
- Baptisms are from 1853 - 1880
- Marriages are from 1854 - 1880
- Family History Library Catalog has this on their film number 0,979,693
- Clare Heritage Centre in Corrofin has records from 1834 - 1900 but commissioned research only
- National Library of Ireland has these on their Pos film number 2471 but only from: 1863 - 1880 (Baptisms), and 1853-1880 (Marriages)
