My 3rd great grandfather, Patrick McAuley married Margaret Cooper. I believe they were from Killadysert, Clare. One of their sons, (my 2nd GG) Charles b. 1829 married Bridget Doherty. I believe they had 8 children and lived in Ballynacally. Their son, my great grandfather, Charles b. 1864 immigrated to America and married my great grandmother, Delia Kane of Dunmore, Galway. I can't seem to find a death record for Bridget(Doherty)McAuley. What cemetary would this family have been burried in? I wonder how well known the McAuley name is in this part of Clare and if there are still any McAuley's still living there. I have found many baptism/marriage records thanks to the Catholic Church records released by the National Library of Ireland recently. Any insight as to where I can find more info on the McAuley's of this are appreciated. Thank you!

Death records were not well kept in Ireland but there is an index on a free site www.irishgenealogy.ie that might prove useful to you. Also, the Clare Local Studies Library has the following information about the relevant graveyard:

You could use the 1901/1911 Census to estimate the number of McAuley families in the area at that time :
